Alberttown joins in city wide restoration initiative
As Independence celebrations were in full swing on Tuesday, civilians and business proprietor Tony Ramcharran joined in the city wide restoration project of cleaning up Georgetown.

This particular group’s cleanup campaign commenced on Light Street, Alberttown, with many residents in the area taking part in returning Georgetown to its ‘Garden City’ status.
Recently citizens as well as public and private sector organizations have been pooling their resources in response to the initiative to transform the city.
Residents of the Alberttown Community came out in their numbers armed with shovels, rakes, cutlasses, brush cutters. Some residents even went as far as to provide their own personal vehicles to aid in this massive cleanup effort aimed at restoring the community.
Many residents have expressed their satisfaction at the initiative. They deemed it as something that would better the environment as well as the entire city.
Ramcharran, owner of Tony’s Auto Sales, in an invited comment said, that he was proud to be part of the cleanup campaign.
“I would like to encourage all private businessmen to help keep their communities clean,” said the businessman, “if each does his part then the entire Guyana will be a better place.”
