2015 NBS Limited 2nd division 40-over cricket competition in Berbice ….
The 2015 New Building Society Second Division 40 Over Cricket Competition, organized by the Berbice
Cricket Board, continued recently with Videsh Singh becoming the 5th centurion of the competition when he blasted 145 for Canje Pathfinders. His knock included 17 fours and 7 sixes and propelled his team to 326 all out in just 28.5 overs against Gangaram Strikers, the highest team score in this year’s competition so far, edging the 316 for 7 in 30 overs made by Courtland All Stars against No 7 in an earlier round. They went on to win by 164 runs.
Deoprakash Ramdat hit 58 to see last year’s losing finalist Corriverton to 186 for 8 in 35 overs against No 69 Vikings. Then off spinner Eric Phillips took 5 for 22 from 7 overs which together with 2 for 16 from Ramdat restricted their opponent to 147 for 9 in their allotted 35 overs.
No 48 Challenger opening pacer Joseph Brijbilas’ 5 for 23 from 5 overs backed up by 3 for 6 from 2.4 overs by leg spinner Balram Samaroo, saw No 59 bowled out for 100 in 20.4 overs. Challengers went on to win by 7 wickets.
No 71 did well to register 167 for 7 in their allotted 25 overs against No 72 All Star but when the latter team replied, Parmashwar Chatterpaul blasted 79 made up of 10 fours to see his team to
victory in 21.4 overs.
Also scoring a half century but in a losing cause was Veerasammy Latchana of Toopoo Rising Stars.

massive 164 runs. Canje Pathfinders 326 in 28.5 overs with Videsh Singh 145 and Imran Harrinandan 43. Brian Pydanna 3 for 50 and Vishaun Karran 3 for 60. Gangaram Strykers 162 in 22 overs with Kevin Dhanraj 48 and Krishna Singh 28. Reagan Reece 3 for 24.
At No 69, Corriverton beat No 69 Vikings by 39 runs. Corriverton 186 for 8 in 35 overs with
Deoprakash Ramdat 58, Amzaan Applesammy 39 n.o and Anthony Seeraj 33. Yoad Prahalad 3 for 17 and Imran Khan 2 for 35. No 69 Vikings 147 for 9 in 35 overs with Wadekar Ramrattan 46 n.o and Viendra Gooniah 25. Eric Phillips 5 for 22 and Deoprakash Ramdat 2 for 16.
At No 48, No 48 Challengers beat No 59 by 7 wickets. No 59 100 in 20.4 overs. Joseph
Brijbilas 5 for 23 and Balram Samaroo 3 for 6. No 48 Cavaliers 107 for 3 in 14.1 overs with Balram Samaroo 40 and Balram Persaud 32.
At No 72, No 72 All Star beat No 71 by 4 wickets. No 71 167 for 7 in 25 overs with Deomangal Deodharry 43 n.o. Krishna Chatterpaul 2 for 22 and Amardeo Hemchan 2 for 29. No 72 All Star 171 for 5 in 21.4 overs with Parmashwar Chatterpaul 79, Amardeo Hemchan 32 and Krishna Chatterpaul 25. Mohamed Khan 2 for 43.
At Belvedere, Belvedere United beat Toopoo Rising Star by 50 runs. Belvedere United 174 for 9 in 35 overs with Majid K Mohamed 4 for 25. Toopoo Rising Star 124 in 20.4 overs with Veerasammy Latchana 54.
At Paradise, Golden Elparabell beat Hopetown United by 5 wickets. Hopetown United 95 in 21.1 overs with Corson Saul 3 for 20. Golden Elparabell 96 for 5 in 16 overs with Enoch

At Albion, Tamarind Root beat Albion Community Centre by 10 runs. Tamarind Root 116 in 27.1 overs with Avinash Looknauth 27. Joshua Harrichand 4 for 18, Kelvin Umrao 3 for 4 and Sharaz Ramcharran 2 for 34. Albion CC 106 in 35 overs with Ajai Ramsammy 3 for 19 and Dilip Rengasammy 2 for 13.
At Skeldon, the home team beat Crabwood Creek Rising by 7 wickets. Crabwood Creek Rising 126 in 34.2 overs with Naresh Deo 46. Skeldon Community Center 127 for 3 in 23 overs with Sherwin Murray 45, Parmanand Narine 27 and Rayon Yakub 26 n.o. Darshan Chalitar took 2 for 24.
