– Knights upset Sonics
Colts, which had managed to secure a competitive reputation in basketball in Georgetown, had a strange
meltdown against Dyna’s Ravens Friday night when ‘King of the Hard Court’ Basketball competition continued at the Plaisance Community Centre Court.
Ravens embarrassed Colts 75-40 in a Division I showdown in Georgetown’s Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) inaugural tournament. Dominic Vicente and Ryan Gullen top scored in the win with 17 points each while Jermaine Slater had 15 and Ryan Stephney 10 points.

Colts improved in the second quarter, but nothing threatening enough to shoot down Ravens, as the quarter ended 32-15. The scoring struggles continued for Colts in the penultimate period of the game with Ravens added 20 points in the period.
Ravens continued their offensive press in the last period to leave a hapless Colts wondering what hit them in 40 minutes of basketball. Vicente led the scoring in the last period with 12 points that included a three-point play and a huge three point jumper.
In the opening Division game of the night, Knights defeated Pepsi Sonics 51-42 with Lloyd Bart scoring 17 points and Owan Walton 13 points. Knights downed the top-ranked Sonics in a result that was perhaps long overdue
after they handed the National Champions, Trinity Grid Holdings Pacesetters a scare two weeks ago.
Akil Lewis also scored10 points for Kinghts. On the losing side, Trevor Smith shot his way to a game high 23 points while Yannick December and Kerwin Jackson had six points each for Pepsi in the encounter.
