The Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Emancipation meet will be held on August 9 at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
The main event on card is the A and lower race over a distance of seven furlongs and carries a first prize of $1,000,000. Other events listed are D 3 and lower, six furlongs for a top prize of $500,000, G 1 and lower, seven furlongs for a purse of $320,000, two years Guyana bred, five furlongs with the winner taking $240,000, H 1 and lower, five furlongs for which the champion will pocket $250,000, J1 and lower, six furlongs for a first prize of $160,000 and K1 and lower which goes a distance of five furlongs and fetch a top prize of $140,000.
Entries close on July 26 and no late entries will be accepted. The races will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
In the event that there is less then five horses entered for any event the club reserves the right to cancel the said event or reduce the prize money. Owners of horses must pay at least $5,000 for each horse at the time of entry.
