A Presidential Inauguration Ball is slated for May 29, next, at the Pegasus Hotel. The event is being organised by the CPIC Monique’s Guyanese Women’s Roundtable (GWR).
GWR is an intergenerational civic engagement network of the CPIC Monique’s National Coalition on Guyanese Civic Participation comprising of over 30 members.
And according to a statement issued by the organisation it is in need of support to make the Ball a success.
It was pointed out, too, that a Souvenir Journal, the official publication for this First Presidential Inaugural Ball, will in fact be the GWR’s first major fundraiser.
It is expected that Guyanese all over the world and friends will read the advertisements placed in this publication.
“We will also place the journal in our archives and post it to our website at after the event. Your purchase of ads and listing as a patron in the Souvenir Journal is an opportunity to help the GWR raise funds to assist in the build our city environment project by women for women,” said the GWR statement in an appeal to possible sponsors.
Moreover, slated to be included in the Souvenir Journal is a special section for corporate sponsors to assist financing the provision of future Souvenir Journals.
According to the GWR statement the first Inaugural Ball will be a promising and great event and social experiences for attending guests. “Your support is sincerely appreciated and greatly needed to assure our success. Please contact Ms. Roslyn Wade at 227-0996 for additional information,” said Chairperson of the Ball, Dr Dawn C. Stewart.
Alluding to President David Granger’s platforms of entrepreneurship, the GWR said that entrepreneurs are the backbone of the nation. For this reason it noted, “We wanted to not just have an inaugural ball where people are coming together to just “party” but to have an event which will make a REAL and LASTING IMPACT for all going forward.”
“This event is not just any Inaugural Ball. Rather it will be a springboard to connect Guyanese in a movement to stimulate social change and growth. Come be part of the movement!” outlined the statement.
Entertainers at the event will include Soloist Lisa Punch; Award-winning classical singer, Ms. Kurtusha Fraser; and a renowned Saxophonist.
Dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Carl (Guyana’s own award -winning DJ) and others.
