The Stabroek Lions Club made another generous donation yesterday to the Amerindian Hostel Princess Street, Georgetown, location as part of the Lions International week of service.
This presentation saw many cheerful faces as members of the Stabroek Lions Den, made their presentation to the members of the administration department along with the residents of the hostile.
With a total value of $150,000 the donation included, books and clothing catered for all ages and both sexes.
Administrative Director, Charles Jerry, thanked the members of the Stabroek Lions Club, “On behalf of the Amerindian Hostel administration and on behalf of the residents. I’m very happy to receive these items from the Stabroek Lions club.
“I would like to give them a heart-filled welcome and may they always continue their contributions… I know these are some very good books that everyone will be able to benefit from. Once again, I say thank you Lions Club.”
Stabroek Lions President, Odessa De Barros, accompanied by other members of the Lions Den noted, “This is a week of service by Lions International and we decided as a club to make the donation to the Amerindian Hostel. We trust that the residents and other members make good use of these items.”
The Lions Club of Stabroek was commissioned on October 19, 2002. It has since made numerous donations to different organisations all across Guyana. Its mission is to be a leader in the community, particularly in the humanitarianism.
