Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) are leading zone A and B respectively in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Carib Beer T20 tournament.
MSC have amassed 40 points from two matches followed by GNIC SC with 29 from two games and Transport SC eight from two. DCC, led by charismatic all-rounder Christopher Barnwell have notched up 57 points from three games thus far while Georgetown Cricket Club are in second spot on 38 points from two matches. Everest are in third spot on 11 from two followed by Gandhi Youth Organisation on 10 from two and University of Guyana six from one.
MSC sit at the top of zone A in the Noble House Sea Foods second division two day with 70 points from three games ahead of GYO 66, DCC 45 and Diplomats on 13. Everest are atop of zone B on 81 points from three games followed by Ace Warriors and Third Class on 28 each and GNIC on 20. Zone C is headed by TSC with 32/1, while Muslim Youth Organisation lead zone D on 58 points gained from three games. GCC are in second position on 55/2, UG on 35/2 and Sophia 14/3.
Meanwhile, chairman of the GCA competitions committee Shawn Massiah said that all competitions are being suspended due to the current inclement weather and is calling on players to keep themselves fit. He expressed gratitude to the various clubs for the use of their facility.
