Assorted items thrown over prison walls
A bag of assorted items was thrown over the walls of the Camp Street prison yesterday morning by a man, according to a police source.
According to reports alert police ranks challenged the man on John Street, Werk-en-Rust.
The contents of the bag which was thrown over the prison wall.
However, he was able to evade capture by running away. The bag was subsequently retrieved by police and prison personnel.
The bag contained a quantity of marijuana in zip-lock bags, lighters, cigarettes and other contraband items.
Prison Director, Weldon Trotz said that the police will be dealing with the matter, as they are the ones who made the interception.
