Mechanic, Ovido Kirton, 58, of 15 Richardstown, Lusignan, succumbed to his injuries at the
Georgetown Public Hospital, following a motorcycle and minibus collision in front of his home, Monday evening just before 20:00hrs.
‘Kaieteur News understands that Kirton was returning home from Mon Repos, a nearby village when the accident occurred.
The man’s daughter, Andrea Kirton, said that her father was traveling from a westernly direction when he was struck by a minibus after he attempted to ride across the road, towards his home.
A public spirited citizen volunteered to take the injured Kirton to the GPHC where Kirton subsequently died. He leaves to mourn his three children and wife, Bernadette Kirton.
Police issued a report stating that the driver of the minibus is in police custody assisting with investigation.
