A man from Charity remains in police custody after a 67-year-old woman claimed that he invaded her house and proceeded to physically assault her. The woman has also told the police that the man stole her money.
According to reports, on Monday, night last, at Charity, the woman who lives alone said that some time around 3:00 hours, she was awakened by the man invading her house. The woman said that the man gained entry through her kitchen and scaled her wall. He pounced on her while she was still in her bed.
She said that the man proceeded to wrestle with her and to choke her. The woman said that5 she fought the invader. In the end he managed to steal some money she had hidden away.
A report was lodged with the Police, at the Charity Outpost and the suspect was arrested.
The woman is currently complaining of an inability to swallow with ease.
More recently, a man had invaded the house of a Richmond Housing Scheme woman who was also physically assaulted by the man.
During the course of last year, a number of women were raped. Most of them lived alone.
