DEAR MR. RAMOTAR,
Taking your office as the new Leader of the Opposition, it is our responsibility to remind you that you are being allowed the important task of representing the will of 202,694 people – leaving out the many others who supported the PPP/C but did not regrettably vote for one reason or the other.
We stand with you during this time, and in doing this, we have to remind you that it is the blatant disrespectful behaviour of the ministers who you appointed to address every issue in Guyana that brought the PPPC to this point. We urge you to immediately distance yourself from those ministers who have brought disgrace to the people’s party in an attempt to demonstrate their powers or to make their friends and family superiors to the people who worked under them.
Had we not been patriotic supporters for the PPP/C maybe more votes would have gone to the coalition. Many of us forgot the pain the PNC put us or our parents through to give them another chance in Guyana’s Parliament.
Nevertheless, it is important to stand strong, represent us once more, do not be a traitor as others have been, and stand in front of us and look at the masses that are following you. Remember that standing alone you have mustered 49.19% of the amount of people who have voted, six parties have joined hands to muster 50.29% of the amount of voters to gain victory.
You should also keep close with you devoted and uncorrupted ministers like Gail Teixeira, Priya Manickchand, Jennifer Westford, Jennifer Webster, Roger Luncheon, Robeson Benn and Clement Rohee.
Stand with your head up and continue to look at Guyana’s interest, accept the friendship arm of Mr. Granger, and work for Guyana’s interest and the Guyanese people.
Together we stand, divided we fall.
PPP/C Supporter and your Friend,
Avid Singh
