Dear Editor,
Following the 2015 General and Regional Elections, we have seen the tremendous movement of Guyanese locally and abroad for a common purpose. The resounding echoes of unspoken words are moving through our Land.
To our politicians. We continue to see the constant divisiveness that Guyana is plunged into during every election season. This must STOP! Hence, I implore upon you to foster the notion of National Unity through shared governance so the issues that are that are affecting the people of Guyana can be fully represented. Too often, politicians have used their positions as platforms to display their grievances with your fellow countrymen.
Guyana has elected a new Leader – H.E. David Arthur Granger. To our new President David Arthur Granger and Prime Minister, Mr. Moses Nagamootoo, Guyana has embraced you – CONGRATULATIONS! I have always been supportive of development for young people, since we are the ones who will have to set the foundation for the inheritors of this beautiful Land and its bountiful resources. I ask of you to keep the promises you have made to all Guyanese during your campaigning. I urge that everything you do and say, do it in honour of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and for Guyana.
Guyana has proven that the cliche “Divide and Conquer” is not always applicable. During the last few weeks leading up to the May 11 General and Regional Elections, we witnessed a movement that was greater than all of us. After a storm came a calm. Many hearts are rejoicing.
To my fellow Guyanese who felt that they were left behind, as I have always said and will continue to say, seize every opportunity that will come your way to make your lives better. Be humble to your fellow Guyanese and be responsible in your comments.
To team APNU/AFC who has worked tirelessly during the weeks of intense campaigning, I take my hat off to you in commendation of imposing upon us a new era of promoting a political message. To all of my friends in the PPP/C Party, defeat is not a bad thing. Re-group and re-startegise for the next time around. Those who will become Members of Parliament, I seek of you to represent the best interest of all of Guyana. Let us on this day put our differences and any animosity aside and continue the development of this great Land of Ours.
IT IS TIME GUYANA. It is time for each and everyone of us to move forward under the guidance of H.E. David Arthur Granger and the Hon. Moses Nagamootoo.
Proud Guyanese Citizen.
