in a Most Valuable Player (MVP) performance.
Tappin dumped in 22 points to help Victory Valley/Scheme beat Kwakwani 72-54 in the final of the first tournament for the newly elected LABA. Forwards, Trevor Profit scored 21 points while Harold Adams added 19 points in the comfortable victory.
For Kwakwani, Leonard Primo and Dominique Douglas had 12 points each to lead the side, while Stanton Rose and Sheldon Thomas supported with eight points apiece. The team from Kwakwani had an unusual poor offensive showing in the game.
In the third place game, Block 22/Wisroc defeated Amelia’s Ward Front 47-44 with Sean Adams scoring 14 points for the winners; Rawle Williams supported with 10 points. For Amelia’s Ward, Akine Wilson also had 14 points.
Primo copped the Most Rebound award while Chris Williams was rewarded with ‘Most Assist’ at the presentation ceremony. The LABA has committed to ensuring that its latest development programme is proliferated throughout the year.
