Police probing the murder of 71-year-old, Richard Ivan Etwaroo, who was discovered dead on the Paradise sea shore, Thursday, have detained a suspect in connection with the man’s murder.
The suspect has not made a confession but the police are hoping that they would find a lead into the death of Etwaroo.
The man used to take strolls during the day. Sometimes his strolls would see Etwaroo attending to his cow. The habitual drinker again left his Paradise/Jibb residence unknown to his wife. As the day got older, Etwaroo failed to return home. That is when his family became alarmed and a search within the Community was undertaken.
The search continued into Thursday when Etwaroo’s body was discovered with a slit to his throat. Other relatives, villagers and the police were alerted. Etwaroo’s body was later transferred to the Suddie Mortuary where a Post Mortem Examination was conducted. The man died as a result of an incised wound to his throat.
Earlier this year, a female Richmond pensioner was murdered during the invasion of her home. She lived alone and was childless.
