The 21-man squad includes local players: Akeem Kanhai (Captain); Dave Causway, Travis Burnette, Shelroy Thomas, Nikkoloi Smith, Terron Welch, Jason Squires, Harold Adams, Ryan Gullen, Jermaine Slater, Chris Williams, Dominic Vincente, Rudy James, Royston Siland, Kurt Elias and Shane Webster (on standby owed to injury).
International players in squad: Kerron McKenzie, Ray Victor, Gordon Klaiber, Delroy James and John Ashley.
The management staff include: Darcel Harris (Head Coach), Marlon Rodrigues (Assistant Head Coach), Troy Greene (Manager) and Andrew Hercules (Assistant Manager).
Practice sessions continue at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Sundays from 8am – 12 noon and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8pm – 11pm.
Two of the five overseas-based players named in the squad have confirmed their availability, Kerron McKenzie, shooting guard and Delroy James, the 6’8″ power forward; they are expected in Guyana on June 1 to commence training with the National Squad, the GABF said in a press release yesterday.
“After sweeping Bermuda in March this year in a three-game series, Guyana played in Suriname in a three game challenge series earlier this month, May 1-3; winning one of the games against a full-strength Suriname CBC team that included Surinamese overseas-based players,” the GABF noted while thanking all, including the media, for their support.
