Fyrish Black Sharks was in dismissive mood when they demolished home team
Ithica Hardliners 78-43 at the Ithica Basketball Court, West Bank Berbice in the latest match of the ongoing NPG Packaging First division Basketball competition.
The Black Sharks was on target from the start as they made steady raids on Hardliners softening them up in the process. By the end of the first quarter, Black Sharks was runaway leaders 24-07. There was more pummeling in the second stanza as Black Sharks swam away to a 38-15 advantage.
By the third quarter Black Sharks were well ahead 58-27. The final quarter saw Black Sharks pulling further away to wrap up a huge win, 78-43. The winner was led by Linden Joseph with the game high 24 points, Dessie Douglas 14 and Saydron Fortune 08. Leading the resistance for the Ithica Hardliners were Kester Sinclair 13 and Kevin Perry 10.
The seven-team competition will continue on Sunday when Canje Knights oppose Hopetown Stealers at the same venue. (Samuel Whyte)
