Christopher Barnwell hammered 128 off just 56 balls as Demerara Cricket Club thumped
Everest by 150 runs when the latest round of matches in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Carib Beer T20 tournament concluded on Sunday last.
Barnwell clobbered 12 sixes and nine fours as DCC posted 255-4, batting first. He got support from Sherfene Rutherford who struck 38 and Dennis Squires with 31 not out. Everest responded with 105-9. Joseph Perry cracked 23 and Rajendra Chandrika 21. Squires returned to take 3-11, Ashmead Nedd had 2-21 and Totoram Bishun 2-24.
At Malteenoes Sports Club ground, the home team beat Transport Sports Club by eight wickets. Batting first TSC were sent packing for 93 in 17.4 overs. Ryan Hemraj made 20; Vishal Narayan snared 3-11, Cordell Mars 3-25 and Steven Sankar 2-13. MSC reached 99-2 in reply. Troy Lewis got 42 and Steven Jacobs 28 not out.
