-Marian Academy ladies also secure victory
The National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) Georgetown Conference continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall over the weekend with St. Rose’s High School continuing their winning ways in the Under-19 category of the 2015 tournament.
St. Rose’s High defeated Saint Stanislaus College 43-33, with Nathan Saul following up his 27-point performance on Friday with 13 points. He got support from Stephan Joseph, who scored eight points and six rebounds. For Saints, Sebastian Luke had 13 points.
In the other U-19 contest, Saint Stanislaus College beat Marian Academy 30-28 with Kadeem Bowen and Travis Belgrave scoring nine points each. Judah Stephney had 10 points and three rebounds for Marian Academy.
However, Marian got reprieve in the lone girls’ contest when they thrashed St. Rose’s High 26-9 with Makeba Ifill scoring 12 point and grabbing six rebounds. Georgiana Vyphuis scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds while Jada Mohan scored six points, dished four assists, took seven rebounds and enforced four steals.
Jada Amerally had five points and five rebounds for St. Rose’s High School. The City Conference will continue on Friday with Tutorial High School hosting North Georgetown Secondary on their home court from 3pm. The tournament will then shift to the Sports Hall for three games from 4:30pm also on Friday.
