Overseas-based Guyanese basketball aficionados made a timely donation of the
Champions Trophy to the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) for their ongoing ‘Kings of the Hard Court’ Basketball Championships.
Former junior national player, Triston Tulloch, now based in New York, made the presentation on behalf of Marlon Thornton and Joel Simon, the others who contributed to the hardware. The tournament continues tonight.
The GABA ‘King of the Hard Court’ competition is the first for the newly-elected administration and is aimed at continuing the proliferation of the sport in Georgetown. It is being played at three venues: Burnham Court, National Gymnasium and Plaisance Community Centre Court.
