of their upcoming 26th anniversary celebrations on Wednesday last presented two Zip Wheels to the Flying Ace Cycling Club (FACC) of New Amsterdam which will be given to an outstanding upcoming cyclist of the club.
The presentation was made by Minister/Evangelist of the Church Samuel Singh and Associate Minister Aaron Abrams to founder and long serving coach of the club Randolph Roberts at a simple ceremony in New Amsterdam.
According to Minister Samuel Singh the church is grateful to be associated with the FACC for their anniversary activities. He stated that over the year the church has been looking at the activities being done by Roberts and The FACC in New Amsterdam and further afield and feels compelled and satisfied to join with the FACC. They are satisfied that Roberts work as a coach and mentor is well respected and in that regards the church is glad to invest in activities organised by the FACC which seeks to get youths off the streets and meaningful involved and away from drugs and other ills of society.
Minister Singh also stated that the club will sponsor a cycle race which will be organised by the FACC in June and which will be all part of the anniversary activities.
According to Roberts the race will be held from New Amsterdam to Kildonan and back to its point of origin and will be for local riders only.
Singh also stated that plans are in the pipeline to assist the club in the future with uniforms and other amenities.
Roberts took the opportunity to thank the Minister and members of the Church for taking the initiative of assisting the club. He also used the opportunity to urge others to come forward and assist the club as it strives to make the lives of those within its ambit and in the community better.
