Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC), GNIC SC and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) registered victories when the Georgetown Cricket Association/ Carib Beer T20 competition continued recently.
Host MSC beat GNIC by six runs. MSC batted first and posted 156. Imran Hassan scored 46; Steven Jacobs made 27 and Anthony D’ Andrade 26; Raun Johnson claimed 2-25. GNIC threatened, but were restricted for 150-6 in reply. Krishna Arjune slammed 101 off 61 balls with thirteen fours and four sixes; Dellon Darymple snared 3-24.
At Bourda, GNIC thumped Transport SC by seven wickets. Batting first, TSC managed 96-8 in 20 overs. Devaughn Nandan made 24 and Oslyn Batson 19. Raun Johnson, Leroy Bristol and Arjune took two wickets each. GNIC responded with 97-3 in 16.4 overs. Dexter Soloman cracked 33 and Assad Fudadin 24.
GCC trounced Everest by six wickets at the said venue. Everest made 126-3 in 20 overs, taking first knock. Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored 45 not out (1×4), while Rajendra Chandrika hit 27 and Shaheed Mohamed 19. Leon Johnson, Robin Bacchus and Raj Nanan took one wicket apiece. GCC replied with 128-4 in 18.2 overs. Elon Fernandes struck 38; Johnson scored 37 and Raymond Reifer 31. Zaheer Mohamed took 2-15.
