The family of Stephen Craig, 45, of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, has expressed sincere thanks to the general public for their support to Craig in his desperate time of need.
The family had solicited monetary donations from the public some time last year to raise the $4.5M for surgery at a medical institution in Trinidad and travel expenses which added some approximate $500,000 to the medical cost for Craig.
Craig was diagnosed with an aneurysm in the brain. After pleading for public assistance through publications by this newspaper, the family was able to afford the man’s medical procedure and take care of his traveling expenses too.
The successful endovascular coiling surgery was done last January, at the Sinclair Medical Centre in Trinidad, according to his wife, Bernice Craig, who emphasized the gratitude of the family for the support given by the public, without which the surgery would not have been possible.
An aneurysm of the brain is a bulging weak area in the wall of an artery that supplies blood to the brain.
