The Guyana Police force has dispatched a team to the Kimbia, Berbice River area following reports that a Jamaican man has been slain there.
Police say that details of what transpired at the one-time Guyana National Service farming area are sketchy, and they are hoping that by the time the team arrives at the location they will be able to gather the necessary information.
According to a source, police received information that the man was murdered and his body was still lying at Kimbia.
“What we’re hearing is that this thing happen like two days ago. We don’t have a name or any information on who kill him,” the source told this newspaper yesterday.
The source said that the police team left yesterday for the area and it would take them close to a day before they reach their destination.
“People hardly live there… most people planting ganja there,” the source added.
