The 2015 A. Ally and Sons Inter Secondary Schools Under-17 Cricket Competition for schools in
Berbice continued recently with Rosignol Secondary registering their second consecutive outright win. Spearheading them to their recent victory over Woodley Park Secondary was firstly Alvin Chowramootoo who scored 50 not out to spearhead them to 213 for 9 declared in their first innings. Then with off spinner Geetesh Roopnarine taking 5 for 1 from 2 overs and left arm Suruj Bissondial 3 for 6 from 2 overs, Woodley Park were then bowled out for 40 in their first innings.
Following on, they were skittled out for a embarrassing 22 with off spinner Hemchan Singh with 6 for 8 from 3.5 overs and Roopnarine with 2 for 14 doing the damage.
Berbice Educational Institute did well to bowl out Canje Secondary School for 63 in their first innings with off spinner Ravindra Ramnauth taking 4 for 13. Then in their response, led by 61 from their Berbice Under-17 batsman Sasenarine Sukhu, BEI made 95 all out. Canje Secondary in their second turn at the crease, were 113 for 9 at the close to earn a draw. Ramnauth took 5 for 29 to end with match figures of 9 for 42.
After Lower Corentyne Secondary School chalked up 197 all out in their first innings against Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary, their off spinner Karan Arjpaul took 5 for 8 from 4 overs and Berbice Under-15 left arm spinner Keith Simpson 3 for 12 to restrict Comprehensive to 81 all out in their first innings.
Summarized scores: At Blairmont, Rosignol Secondary School beat Woodley Park Secondary by an innings and 146 runs. Rosignol Secondary 1st made 213 for 9 declared with Alvin Chowramootoo 50 n.o and Seeraj Bissoondial 29. Hanskumar Jodhan took 4 for 80 and Nandanie Arnold 4 for 65. Woodley Park Secondary 45 all out in their first innings with Geetesh Roopnarine 5 for 1 and Suraj Bissoondial 3 for 16.
In their second turn at the crease, they made 22 with Hemchan Singh 6 for 8 and Geetesh Roopnarine 2 for 14.
At Cumberland, Berbice Educational Institute took first innings points from Canje Secondary School in their drawn match. CSS 1st innings 63 with Ravendra Ramnauth 4 for 13 and Avash Seepersaud 2 for 11 and second innings 113 for 9 with Jamal Frank 22 and Isaiah Reid 21. Ravindra Ramnauth took 5 for 29 and Tagenarine Shiwmangal 2 for 3. BEI 1st innings 95 all out with Sasenarine Sukhu 61; Abdul Ramsammy 4 for 11 and Zeynil Ramsammy 3 for 21.
At Area H, Lower Corentyne Secondary School took first innings points form Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary School in their drawn encounter. LCSS 1st innings – 197 with Veramootoo Senwasie 40, Kevlon Anderson 30 and Junior Sinclair 25. Alex Williams 3 for 30, Haifa Walters 2 for 29 and Surendra Budhoo 2 for 15. Corentyne Comprehensive 1st innings 81 with Karan Rajpaul 5 for 8 and Keith Simpson 3 for 12.
