Dear Mr. Editor
It is my observation that the Demerara Cricket Board would be holding a meeting to elect its Executive Officials on 30th April, 2015 at GNIC Sports Club Woolford Avenue Georgetown. This will be the first time for the past five years that Demerara Cricket Board would be holding free and fair elections with all its members participating. This activity could well see the final resolution of our cricket woes at a time when our cricket teams have been doing so well in the field.
It offers a golden opportunity for the administration to match the on field performances in the boardrooms/offices, and not in the courts, which for some strange reason has been largely responsible for the present chaos in our cricket, with injunction after injunction being granted.
Let us hope and pray that the occasion does not attract another of the many injunctions that have been plaguing the proper organisation of our cricket by a group of individuals who are unrelenting with the number of litigations which are designed to keep our cricket in continuous turbulence for their benefit.
It is noteworthy to mention that in 2003, when litigation first raised its ugly head in our cricket administration, Chancellor Carl Singh appointed Justice Aubrey Bishop to mediate and he did so successfully. Why is it so different now?
The court system must stop this injunction madness, and allow the people to decide their own fate in the democratic process of free and fair elections.
