Anthony Benfield, Andrew Murray, Richie Richards, Ryan Seales, Quincy
Adams and Kestor Jacobs have all been making their contribution towards the rapid development of Suriname club side, SV Nishan 42 which has become a force to reckon with.
The biggest win to date this season is the clubs victory of top division-one side and defending champions Inter Moengotapoe which they toppled 1-0 in the final of the Baker Cup two Saturdays ago compliments of an Andrew Murray goal; he netted 10 goals in the competition and a similar amount so far in the second division competition.
The win over Inter Moengotaope, which had won the Cup for the past four years, was just before they traveled to Guyana for the CFU Club Championship Group 1 play where they also lost both their games to Alpha United and T&T’s Central FC.
SV Nishan in winning the championship proved that their climb was no fluke having also defeated the four leading clubs in the top league including the defending champions.
The Guyanese players who joined the roster last October have helped to add much needed fuel to SV Nishan which, prior to their signing, was lagging at the bottom of the second division in the Dutch speaking nation.
But with careful investment by the club’s management, they have seen a big change in fortunes as they now are on the verge of winning the second division which they are currently leading with another four games to play.
They are ahead of Robinhood, Jong Rambaan, Voorwaarts, Deva Boys, Papatam, Caravan, ACoconut, PVV, West United, KD and Boskamp.
