The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is proud to showcase its ranks that were successful in two recent tournaments held locally at the National Gymnasium and Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) respectively.

The successful ranks are recruits based at the Felix Austin Police Training College under the command of Senior Superintendents Paul Williams, while the Martial Arts Sensei Troy Bobb and Paul Ignatius worked with the young Lawmen during their preparation for the tournaments.
On March 29 at the Gymnasium, they copped 10 Gold, Six Silver and three Bronze Medals in the Great Diamond Mixed Martial Arts Championships.
Marie Roberts (2 Gold), Khadya St Clair (2 Gold), Nikkita Scott (1 Silver), Orlando Hercules (1 Gold & 1 Silver), Michael Kendall (1 Gold & 1 Silver), Larnelle O’Conor (3 Bronze), Ryan Shannon (1 Gold & I Silver), Troy Bobb Jr (2 Gold & 1 Silver), Paul Ignatius (1 Gold) and Tekisha Williams (1 Silver) were the outstanding performers for Police.
At CASH on April 5 at the Guyana Classic of Classics Martial Arts Tournament, Marie Roberts, Khadya St Clair, Nikkita Scott, Michael Kendall, Troy Bobb Jr, Paul Ignatius and Tekisha Williams were the outstanding performers.
“Self defence is an integral competent of the initial training for the recruits and the Force’s Administration is in support of its ranks who are desirous of taking the Sport seriously to a professional level,” Williams said.
In the Classics of Classics Martial Arts Tournament there was a draw between Guyana and Trinidad where both Countries obtained 159 awards each. (Sean Devers)
