Speed XI defeated Savage Masters by 36 runs in a 25-over softball game played recently at Demerara Cricket Club.
Batting first, Speed XI managed 240-9 off their allotted 25 overs. Richard Balgobin scored 41, Tulsie Sahadeo 40, Yunnis Yussuf 24 and Wallack Joseph 21. Raymond Bharat grabbed 6-46, Rudolph Perreira 2-21 and Shawn Comacho 2-33.
Savage Masters responded with 204-9 in 25 overs. Perreira stroked 101 not out and Raymond Bisraj 37. Sahadeo snared 4-36, while Ramo Malone and Balgobin had two each.
Bisraj copped the best bowler prize while Perreira took the best batsman trophy and Sahadeo the man of the match award; both teams received trophies.
