On Sunday April 26, the Saint Stanislaus College ground on Carifesta Avenue should be a hive of activity with plenty of fun and frolic anticipated when the Foreign Affairs Ministry hold its Workers’ Day of Sports from noon.
The Brain Child of Coordinator for the Event and Sports Enthusiast James Lewis, the idea was born from Lewis days in sports during the 1980’s and early 90s when workers would remember the days of sports events which produced lots of fun and excitement.
“So I got together with a group of young workers in my Ministry and other ministries to organise this workers day of sports which includes participation in several sporting activities,” James informed.
Softball cricket, Small Goal Football, Dominoes, Whist and Athletics will pit the workers skill against each other, while fun events such as Lime & Spoon, Needle & Tread, Buns Eating competition, two-legged races along with 100, 200, 400, & 60 meters races for both Females and Males in addition to Tug-a-War and Late for Work competitions will be held.
Prizes, medals & Trophies are being donated by Ministers and Sponsors and all Ministries and Offices are set to participate in the day’s event.
