2015 NBS Second Division forty overs cricket competition…
The 2015 New Building Society Limited Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition, organised by the
Berbice Cricket Board, continued with Jorim DeFreitas registering the first century of this year’s competition when he slammed 100 not out for Guyana Eagles in their match against Canefield. His knock, which included 8 fours and 4 sixes, saw his team to 184 for 6 in their allotted 25 overs.
Canefield could only respond with 112 in 20 overs. Left arm spinner Chris Sulker of Angoy’s Avenue took 6 for 9 from 6 overs, which together with 3 for 9 from 3 overs from off spinner Graham McKenzie restricted Police to 78 in 17 overs. Then their opener Glendon
DeCunha hit 43 n.o to steer his team to a 9 wicket win.
After Fyrish scored 254 for 9 in 35 overs against No 7, the latter team opening batsman Orlando Gvirola who is a Cuban by birth, made 71 runs (11 fours and 2 sixes) in vain as his team fell for 187 in 23.5 overs.
