A 15-year-old boy is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after a longstanding dispute with another youth turned deadly.
Kester Yamster, of 110 Eccles Housing Scheme, was stabbed about 18:30hrs last evening to the upper left side chest and side by another youth who was identified only as ‘Georgie’.
According to an eyewitness, ‘Georgie’ and Kester had a long standing dispute. He said that Kester and the suspect had recently fought over a girl and it was known around the neighbourhood that ‘Georgie’ wanted to beat Kester.
The suspect was next to a chips stand two corners from the Eccles culvert when Kester rode up on his bicycle.
“He goes around telling people how he want beat Kester and people go back and tell Kester. So Kester go up to he and ask he if he want story and he start railing up.” He said
He stated that after that Yamster came off his bike and approached the suspect.
“Like he had he knife hide under he arm. He approached Kester and start fire a wild bore. We thought is punch he was punching he.”
He said Kester backed off, exclaiming that he had been stabbed. The eyewitness stated that when they approached the scene, ‘Georgie’ ran away.
The witness stated that they then proceeded to place Kester in a taxi and rushed him to the Georgetown Public hospital. On the way they called Kester’s mother.
The witness revealed that as recent as yesterday Kester and the suspect had fought.
Up to press time Yamster was in the hospital theater. The suspect is currently in police custody.
