Another large entity came forward and offered tangible support to the Petra Organisation- organised inaugural Busta Soft Shoe Football Competition which kicked off yesterday, at the GFC ground.
The latest corporate member to add its name to the list of growing supporters of the tournament was furniture and appliances store Lucky Dollar after Chain Manager Robert Arjoon handed over a cheque for an undisclosed sum to Petra Organisation’s Co-Director Troy Mendonca in the presence of Store Manager Sharon Persaud on Wednesday, at the entity’s location on Regent Street.
Arjoon in his remarks expressed confidence that the tournament will be a success despite the format being played for the first time.
He then spoke of the Company which according to him is expanding and this he added was as a result of its loyal customers so their involvement is one way of giving back to them since among the teams could be players who have supported the entity.
Ajooon closed by wishing the Organisers every success in the endeavour.
Persaud in a short address said her Company was indeed pleased to be associated with the tournament and the Petra Organisation and Guyana Beverages Inc., adding that what the tournament does is introduce to the fans a new style of football.
She too echoed the sentiments of Arjoon about their optimism of the tournament being a success.
Mendonca in response thanked the entity for its support, before assuring the two staffers that they will strive to deliver a tournament that is pleasing to them and one where the hallmark will be discipline and camaraderie among the respective teams.
