Long time partner and supporter Fitness Express (Sheriff Street, Campbellville) has continued its commitment to local bodybuilding as the main sponsor of the Guyana Amateur Body Building & Fitness Federation (GABBFF) Novices championships which will be contested tomorrow evening at the Theatre Guild, Kingston.

Managing Director/Owner of Fitness Express, Jamie Mc Donald in offering support, said that they have a duty as a corporate entity to continue supporting sports and Guyana’s athletes, so it’s just a matter of maintaining that stance.
“We have always been there for the sport of body building and will keep on in this vein. Fitness Express is of the view that these athletes have been doing us proud and we as a corporate citizen will continue to play our role in aiding their development.”
The majority of the 25 athletes expected to grace the stage tomorrow are from the Ancient county of Berbice, this area has been excelling in the power sports for some years now. That tradition is expected to continue tomorrow evening.
For the first time at this level, the Miss Bikini category will be introduced. There will also be the Miss Body Fitness and Men’s Physique competitions apart from the usual categories: Junior Under-21years, Flyweight (Under-132lbs), Bantamweight (Under-143lbs), Lightweight (144-154lbs), Welterweight (155-166lbs), Light Middleweight (166-176lbs), Heavyweight (177lbs and over).
Patrons will be asked to pay an entrance fee of $1500, muscle flexing will commence at 19:00hrs. Other sponsors on board are Cyrex Fitness Gym, Subs & Salads and Al Haaq.
