Dear Editor,
G.T. &T. stands to lose nothing but customers like me and many others who suffer from the improper land line service being provided on the Essequibo Coast.
For my business place a monthly rental of $1,800 is chargeable despite the many defects making its use seldom possible.
Ever so often, there is no dial tone without which calls cannot be made and even when it is there trying to dial a number evokes a continuous sound like Chinese music with much irritation and annoyance.
Whenever there is a conversation the phone suddenly cuts off abruptly which is very disgusting and unacceptable.
Although there is a complaints desk at Anna Regina it is a waste of time going there as was done repeatedly by me who experience no improvements to the service.
Paying for a service from which the intended benefits are not derived is tantamount to a presumptuous injustice all because of monopoly in a ‘can’t do better’ situation.
In my humble opinion, the company will do a great good to the affected customers by scrapping the service.
