Preparation continues in earnest for the Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) one day meet set for Sunday 26th April 2015 at the club’s track at Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice. Eight races are carded for the day with over $5M up for grabs.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘C’ and lower for a total package of over $1.2M and trophy over 1500M. There is an event for horses classified D3 maiden and E and F Class winners over 1500M for a first prize of $400,000 and trophy.
The 1200M race for three Year old Guyana and West Indies bred and born animals has winning money of $300,000 and trophy. Horses classified G1 and lower will be running for a winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy over 1300M. The G3 and lower 1300M race will see the winner also pocketing $300,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower horses will get their opportunity to race for the winning purse of $250,000 and trophy over 1300M.
The final two races are for animals classified the J and lower and K and lower over 1300M for winning takes of $200,000 and $150,000 and trophies respectively.
A number of sponsors are already on board including Inshan Bacchus of Hard Running Trucking Service and Horseracing stables, Banks DIH Limited and Lakeram Buddy Sukdeo and family. Rehabilitation work is ongoing at the facility with the grand stand, the paddock, fencing, the rails, jockey board and the officials housing area all being upgraded. Water supply, lighting and other amenities have been included in the upgrading. Land filling work at the venue has also been completed. Most of the turns on the track have also been reshaped.
Coordinator Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sookdeo is promising turfites a grand day of racing.
Top individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of the organizers.
