Two armed men yesterday stormed a city hotel on Church Street, Georgetown and escaped with $400,000 in cash and a quantity of phone cards.
The robbery which occurred around 12:10 hrs at the Sleep-in Guest House was caught on camera.
Kaieteur News was told that the men stormed the establishment and held up two of the hotel staffers—a receptionist and the bell boy.
One of the armed men reportedly demanded that the receptionist look away and be quiet while he emptied the drawer where the money was kept.
He threatened to shoot if she made any noise. He also ordered the bell boy to lie on the floor while the other gunman stood in the waiting area, looking around.
One of the men wore an American Eagle branded black shirt while the other wore a Faux leather jacket.
While the gunmen were not masked, they both wore hats in an effort to cover their faces.
After carrying out the brazen robbery, the men escaped in a waiting silver car.
No one was injured.
