St. Stanislaus College and Transport Sports Club (TSC) recorded victories when the Georgetown
Cricket Association (GCA)/ Brainstreet U15 tournament continued last weekend.
St. Stanislaus defeated host Gandhi Youth Organisation by 147 runs. Batting first, St. Stanislaus College posted 289 all out in 42. 2overs. Surindra Kaneez slammed 183.
The right hander dominated an opening stand of 63 with Shemar Ryan (08) to give his team a bright start. The visitors lost their way somewhat in the middle, but despite wickets falling around him, Kaneez played well, anchoring his team’s innings as he added 77 for the eighth wicket with Godfrey Taylor (03). Kaneez stroked 12 fours and 15 sixes and brought up his century off 66 balls.
Elnathan Sukhnanand and Navindra Persaud picked up three wickets each for GYO who mustered 143 all out in 43 overs in reply, aided with 63 extras.
Keon Williams top scored with 24; Veeraj Persaud snared 4-32, Travis Thomas 3-49 and Ezekiel Caines 2-19.
At GNIC, TSC overcame Malteenoes SC by 64 runs. TSC took first strike and scored 149 all out in 32 overs. Devon Allen cracked 41, while Tony Adjodah cracked 35 and Jamal Michael 16. Leg spinner Dwayne Bollers bagged 5-21 and Andrew Andries 2-30.
MSC were sent packing for 85 in 32 overs in response. Tuen Hicks slammed 23 and Avin Gangadin made 14 as Joel Spooner grabbed 4-14, Ronaldo Fredericks 2-6, Akeem Maloney 2-12 and Joel Prostea 2-15.
