Veteran Deosarran ‘Double-Wrist’ Sookram who placed 2nd in the 0-9 handicap

category in last year October’s Sanjay’s Jewelry Classic emerged as clear winner in last Sunday’s exciting Sanjay’s Jewelry Golf Tournament. Another veteran, Kalyan Tiwari, who placed third best Net and Nearest to The Pin, in the October tournament, emerged 2nd. The other winners from last year’s October and March Sanjay’s sponsored tournaments were not able to keep up with the performance of Sunday’s players, as 3rd place saw a new winner outside of last year’s winners in the person of golfer ‘Pandit Ravi’ Persaud.
Mr Sanjay Persaud, CEO of Sanjay’s Jewelry, expressed his continued willingness to support golf in Guyana. This time he even brought his brother along, who was on hand to assist with the distribution of prizes.
At the end of the day’s play, the winners and their handicaps and net scores were as follows: 1st Best Net, as well as Best Gross, Deosarran – 6/64; 2nd- Kalyan 19/65;3rd Rabindindranath ‘Pandit Ravi’ Persaud – 25/66. Nearest to The Pin was won by B Harry.
Club President David Mohamad, also expressed the Lusignan Golf Club’s gratitude for the continued excellent support of Sanjay’s Jewelry.
