Statistician Charwayne Walker this week notes Christopher Barnwell’s recent ton in
Regional cricket as an historic feat.
When DCC’s pugnacious stroke maker, Christopher Barnwell, past 120 vs the Windward Islands at Windsor Park Roseau Dominica, he surpassed the previous best by a Guyanese fast bowling all-rounder at the regional first class level. Barnwell’s 148 eclipsed Charlie Stayers 120. Stayers, who held the record made 120 against Barbados in a losing cause at the Mecca, Kensington Oval 58 years ago. The other Guyanese fast bowling all-rounder century makers at the regional first class level are:
C.R Browne
Winston English
William White
Garfield Charles
