Outstanding performances by Zaheer Mohamed Shadir and Bhaskar Yadram handed Enterprise A and B teams victories when their Busta T20 festival commenced recently on the East Coast of Demerara.
Host Enterprise A defeated Strathaven by four-wickets. The visitors batted first and managed 159-9 in 20 overs. Martin Dutchin scored 49 and Sewchand Boodhoo 31. Mohamed snared 5-26 including a hat-trick and Chatterpaul Singh who also claimed a hat-trick had 3-21.
The home team replied with 160-6 in 19.4 overs. Rohan Mangal struck 61, Parmanand Dindyal 36 and Vivian Albert 25. G. Hemraj took 2-32.
At Mon Repos, Enterprise B overcame the home team by 86 runs. Enterprise B took first strike and scored 188-6 in 20 overs. Bhaskar Yadram stroked 77, Seemangal Yadram 24 and Hansraj Sookdeo 21. S. Sankar had 3-30.
Mon Repos replied with 102-9 in 20 overs with R. Singh scoring 42; Pradesh Balkissoon snared 4-13 and Seemangal Yadram 2-12.
At Enmore, the host beat Buxton by 15 runs. Enmore took first knock and made 135-9 in 20 overs. Navindra Ghouni scored 33, Vishwanauth Ramlall 28 and Keuna Ramalho 26. Mark Chloe took 2-15 and Devon Benjamin 2-18. Buxton responded with 120-9 in 20 overs. Rawl Fredericks slammed 51; Christopher Surat grabbed 4-28 and Gavin Moriah 2-11.
At Enterprise, Unity went down to Enterprise B by seven wickets. Unity scored 131-8 in 20 overs, batting first. Keith Suraj smashed 71; Seemangal Yadram had 3-19 and Afzal Rohoman 2-26. Enterprise B replied with 133-3 in 17.5 overs. Bhaskar Yadram hit 43 while Lakeram Dindyal and Nishad Ulla 31 not out each.
At Lusignan, the host overcame Bravados by 36 runs. Batting first, Lusignan posted 139-8 in 20 overs. Devanand Samaroo scored 28, Kumar Bissoondyal and Somnauth Bharat 21; Anthony Ifill took 2-13. Bravados mustered 103-9 in 20 overs in reply. Ifill scored 23 as Gajanand Sookdeo claimed 3-11 and Imran Khan 2-20.
At Enterprise, Enterprise A trounce Bee Hive by four wickets. Bee Hive took first turn at the crease and scored 140-6 in 17 overs. L. Rooplall scored 27 and R. Jagnauth 24. The host responded with 140-6 in 17 overs. Mohamed scored 36, Albert 35 and Brijanand Singh 27.
At Enmore, Buxton thumped Golden Grove by 18 runs. Buxton rattled up 129-7 off their reduced quota of 15 overs. Rawl Fredericks got 36, R. Harte 26 and D. Glenn 21. Q. Cummings and D. Gordon captured two wickets each. Golden Grove managed 111-7 in 15 overs. S. Burges struck 50 and J. Wickham 23. Devon Benjamin and K. Booker picked up two scalps apiece. The competition continues this weekend.
