A Good Hope welder was yesterday released on $50,000 bail, on a forgery charge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Ramdeo Persaud 38, of Lot 260 Good Hope, East Coast Demerara denied the allegation which stated that between March 12 and 14, at Georgetown, with intent to defraud, he conspired with person (s) unknown, to forge one Republic of Guyana passport purporting to show that same was issued by the Central Immigration and Passport Office.
Defence Counsel Peter Hugh asked that his client be released on reasonable bail, which Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry granted.
The defendant was ordered to report to the subordinate officer (SO) at the Criminal Investigation Department, Eve Leary, every Friday.
His matter will be called again on April 17.
