Several occupants of a route 46 minibus luckily escaped unhurt after the vehicle collided with a car at the corners of Durban and Smyth streets, around 18:00hrs last evening.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus (a pitbull) was travelling east along Durban Street when the silver Raum, which was travelling north along Smyth Street, failed to stop at the intersection of the major road, where there is a clearly visible stop sign, hence, colliding with the bus.
The driver of the car, who is said to be a 19 year old, was on the scene co-operating with police when Kaieteur News arrived.
As a result of the impact of the collision the right side door of the bus was ‘jammed’ and the front of
the car was damaged.
