Dolphin Secondary urged on by a large band of supporters including the
school’s cheerleaders came from behind to send defending champions Lodge crashing out of the Nestle Milo Under-20 Schools Football Competition when semi-finals action ended yesterday, at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Playing in front of a capacity crowd that included local and regional Nestle representatives, Dolphin were led to victory through goals from Leon Richardson and Joshua Perreira who netted in the 50th and 76th minutes respectively.
Earlier, Shemar Smith’s 13th minute strike had given Lodge the lead.
In the other semi-final game, Chase Academy squeezed past an obstinate Morgan’s Learning Centre by a 1-0 margin with the speedy Marlon Nedd’s 38th minute strike unscrambling the two teams.

Fabian Boters, who then delivered a cross from the left wing and a partial save from the opposing goalkeeper landed into the path of a lurking Smith, who ran in and tapped into an empty goal.
Dolpihn responded through Leon Richardson, who netted a penalty after the referee deemed that the goalkeeper had fouled an opposing player and he placed a low shot to the right of the goalkeeper.
With all to play for now that the scores were level, Dolphin bouyed by the partisan support suddenly attaacked with fervour and got the go-ahead goal through Perreira, who collecetd a pass from centrefield, ran towards goal and dribbled the keeper, before firing into the goal in the 76th minute, a lead they would hold until the final whistle sounded sending their fans into a frenzy of celebrations.
In the feature game, both Chase Academy and Morgan Learning Centre treated the fans to some scintillating football, but it was the speedy Nedd, who scored the decisive goal in the 38th minute to ensure that they stay on target to play for the title.
