props and put things in place for what promises to be yet another exciting Practical Pistol Match they will host tomorrow at the G.D.F. Range.
The Board of Directors of the G.S.S.F. wishes to acknowledge the generosity and thank the management of NABI Construction for their donation of a new roll of construction mesh and also the management of Nutra Farms for donating wood in their bid to offset expenses of the Federation. These items will be used for the construction of several screens and walls to be used by the GSSF’s Practical Shooting Section.
President of the Federation, Ms. Vidushi Persaud explained in the presence of Mr. Rafael Nabi, Director of Nabi Construction at the short handover held at the company’s Head Office on Brickdam, that the mesh is an integral item in the construction of walls, portable screens and divisions with ports and windows which are commonly used in the various stage designs. She added that our local shooters will be eager to skillfully navigate between these new props at future G.S.S.F. practical shooting events and went on to further thank members, friends and
corporate Guyana who extended their support so far to the Federation and expressed hope that others will come on board.
Asst. Secretary/Treasurer, Mr. Ryan McKinnon indicated that the upcoming match

features three stages and the will be open to all experienced Practical Pistol Shooters of Guyana. He noted that persons wanting to find out more about the GSSF can contact any Board member, or they can visit the GSSF website www.guyanasportshooting.com.
Practical shooting is regarded as any type of sport shooting that involves engaging targets while having to move with the firearm. The handgun element of sport simultaneously measures the ability of the competitor to shoot rapidly and accurately with a full power (9mm/higher calibre) handgun in a fun, fair, safe, competitive environment. Scoring takes into account three elements – speed, accuracy and power. Each match is made up of stages that seek to measure a shooter’s ability in all three elements and coordinated under strict safety guidelines.
