Lower East Bank Lions and Georgetown Bears will battle for the Cheddi Jagan Memorial over-40 age 20-over
title on Sunday at Lusignan community centre ground.
GT Bears defeated Upper East Bank Colts by six wickets in the final preliminary round game played recently at the said venue. Colts batted first and posted 117-6 off their allotted 20 overs. Rohan Sarjoo struck 33 and Sanjeev Datadin 24 not out. The pair added 57 off 34 balls for the sixth wicket to give the innings some respectability. R. Samaroo had earlier scored 24 and K. Tuknauth 17. Kevin Ross took 2-17 and A. Woolford 2-26.
GT Bears replied with 118-4 in 19.3 overs. Basil Persaud stroked 6 fours and 4 sixes in scoring 63 off 40 balls, while extras contributed 23. S. Ramdin claimed 2-24, Ravindra Seeram 1-14 and Dennis Mangru 1-17.
The final gets underway at 11:30 hrs and the teams will come from.
