Siblings Peter and Rondell Daby will be aiming to sweep the podium once again when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club International Drag Race Meet scheduled to be held this Sunday, at the South Dakota Circuit.
The Dabys dominated the last Meet and word is that the two have already sent out utterance that they are not taking any competitor lightly and have been preparing to duplicate their last performance.
Peter drives a power-packed Mitsubishi Evolution 7 and the feedback is that the car is in excellent shape and he expects good results even with the presence of competitors from neighbouring Suriname.
The slim-built racer according to a source will be seeking to upstage his brother as well.
Rondell will be piloting two machines, one being a Toyota Supra and the other a Mitsubishi Evolution.
The Dabys are brimming with confidence both in terms of their own form and the reliability of the cars.
Drag racing is growing in popularity and is making a strong claim right now, enjoying better organisation and competitors who’re willing to spend the cash to make their machines highly competitive.
The Superbikers are also expected to add to the excitement and those who face the starting lights will no doubt be looking to outdo each other in the battle for outright supremacy.
Additionally, race fans will have the opportunity to witness the Porta Tree Timing System which is equipped with specialized starting lights that allow quarter mile speeds to be recorded.
Races commence at 09:00 hrs and admission for adults is $1000, while children are $500 and vehicles free.
Meanwhile, GT&T, Universal Communications, Carlsberg Beer, Rent-a-Tent, AR. Jiwanram, Fanatix Designs, T&R Seafoods and Ganesh Parts and General Store are among the major sponsors.
