The packed arena that was at the recently concluded ‘Clash of The Titans’ horserace meet and those who still have doubts of which is the top horse in Guyana will not have to wait long to settle all scores. The big
news is Score’s Even will be there.
The Jumbo Jet Business enterprise, organisers of the $10M Guyana Cup Fever horserace meet, which is the biggest event on the racing calendar so far, has rung the changes to include an A1 and lower event.
As preparations intensify for the much talked about “Guyana Cup Fever” meet 2015, a few other changes have been made for the Easter Sunday, April 5th horserace meet at the Port Mourant (Big Yard) Turf Club.
As such, Score’s Even is expected to renew its rivalry with C.P Got Even and with animals such as a fresh Spit Fire and Princess She Not competing a close race is anticipated. Can Score’s Even do it over 1800M or nine furlongs? The feature event will now be for animals classified A1 and lower over 1800M for a whopping $1.2M and trophy.
The D1 and Lower event will now be classified D3 and lower over 1600M for a winning take of $800,000 and trophy. The F1 and lower 1200M event will also feature animals classified three year old West Indies and Guyana bred, colts, fillies, mares and up for a total prize of $ 940,000 and trophy.
The G3 and lower event and will also feature West Indies and Guyana bred colts, fillies 3yrs old and up. The distance is 1200M for a combined purse of $750,000 and trophy. There is an event for West Indies and Guyana bred three year old animals including colts and fillies also for a total prize of $940,000 and trophy over 1500M.
The event for Guyana Bred three year old colts, mares and fillies has now been restructured to cater for those I and lower horses for a total prize package of $560,000 and trophy over 1200M. The ‘I’ class event has been dropped.
The final race will be for animals classified J2 and lower and Guyana bred colts, fillies and mares for a total purse of $375,000 over 1200M.
They organisers have also arraigning a number of added attractions, giveaways and incentives including freed kites for kids upon entry.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
