Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry ordered a young woman to post $50,000 bail, after she was accused of stealing a large sum of money from her lover.
Cassie Monifa, 23, denied the allegation which stated that between March 11 and 12, in Georgetown, she stole US$100,000 from Lester Cummings.
The court heard that the young woman and Cummings had been out partying on the night of March 11, when it was alleged that the man either fell asleep or was distracted when she stole the said money.
Police corporal Bharrat Mangru prosecuted the matter. He had no objections to the defendant being released on bail.
The magistrate subsequently granted bail to the tune of $50,000.
Monifa will return to court on April 23.
