Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) and Covent Garden Secondary recorded victories when the East Bank Demerara Schools 23rd Annual Easter Term Windball competition continued recently at Timehri Red Ground.
Institute of Professional Studies (Golden Grove) overcame Xenon Academy by 66 runs. IPS batted first and made 125-3 off 8 overs, with James Couchman scoring 57, (8×6); Christ Bohesport made 22 and Shawn Alleyne 12.
Xenon Academy in reply were bowled out for 59 in seven overs. Navindra Kumar picked up five wickets.
Eleven times champions Covent Garden Secondary defeated debutant Camille’s Institute (Diamond Branch) by 104 runs. Covent Garden posted 153-1, batting first. Sagar Hatharimani struck 89 not out (5×4,10×6) and Kurt Douglas made 61 (3×4,7×6).
Camille’s were bowled out for 49; Hatharimani captured four wickets.
