The script seems to be getting better every time for Guyana’s number one
In celebratory mood as a representative of the Peter Lewis and Sons Construction Company presents the beautiful trophy to the Simple Royal Stable.
and only A class horse, Score’s Even in a record breaking performance on Sunday at the Kennard Memorial Turf Club Post Phagwah Meet.
The animals broke out of the starting stalls without the jockey and ran two times around the track before it was caught. The animal took a five minutes breather before re-entered the starting gates for the feature “A” class and lower seven Furlongs event with jockey Rad Drepaul on the mount. It started among the pack, picked up speed down the backstretch, relaxed again before destroying the field to win by about six lengths and took the coveted $1M and trophy compliments of Peter Lewis and Sons Construction.
According to racing experts it was the first time something like that had occurred and it only proved the class and strength of the animal which is owned by Dennis DeRoop of the Simple Royal Stable.
Finishing down the line was Lady Budapest ahead of Jack In My Style and Just Call Me Boss.
Other results on the day saw Run Nana Run winning the D3 and lower race, Settling Jet winning
Connection of the Jumbo Jet Stable receives their trophy for Settling Jet’s victory in the G1 and lower race.
the G3 and Lower event. The K class and lower event was won by Royal Stallion.
Party Time was in winner’s row in the K 2 event, while Turn About took the handicap race.
The Simple Royal stable was the top stable on show with three wins, while jockey Rad Drepaul was the top jockey on show. Dennis DeRoop walked away with the top trainer award.
Incidentally it was a fitting birthday present for the owner of the Simple Royal Stable Dennis DeRoop who celebrated his birthday on Sunday.
